Prince Sued By Fragrance Company Over 3121 Scent

November 18th, 2008

Prince is being sued by Revelations Perfume and Cosmetics Inc., who claim the singer failed to “commit to or coordinate any promotional efforts” in the marketing of his scent ‘3121′.

Named after his 2006 album, Revelations state in court documents that they paid Prince over $2.5 million to license his name and likeness for two fragrances and promised Universal Music Publishing 50 percent of the proceeds.

According to the lawsuit, “Since July 2007, despite repeated attempts by Revelations there have been virtually no communications from anyone who could commit to or coordinate any promotional efforts by Prince.”

A rep for Universal responded to the claims telling E! News that they are “completely without merit.”
