Prince William and his girlfriend, Kate Middleton, have accused the paparazzi of being irresponsible - after they were pursued by photographers on motorcycles and in cars - saying that the behavior is "potentially dangerous".

The couple were leaving Boujis, a London nightclub, at 2am on Friday night (October 5) when the paparazzi began chasing them trying to obtain exclusive pictures.

An inquest is currently underway into the death of the Prince’s mother, Princess Diana, who was killed in a car accident 10 years ago Paris as she was being pursued by photographers. 

Paddy Harverson, press secretary for Prince William, released a rare statement for the Prince, saying:

"Having already been photographed leaving a club, he and Kate Middleton were then pursued in his car by photographers on motorcycles, in vehicles and on foot.

This aggressive pursuit was potentially dangerous, and worrying for them.

It seems incomprehensible, particularly at this time, that this behaviour is still going on."
