Rapper Lil Jon is launching his own brand of wine, called ‘Little Jonathan Winery’, offering consumers a selection of beverages including a merlot and chardonnay, despite being "no ‘drink wine every day’ kind of dude."

Lil Jon explained to The Associated Press that the idea, "kind of came out of nowhere. We were just going to do some private label stuff (for parties) and we did it, and people was like, `Hey, it’s pretty nice.’"

However, when it comes discussing his product, Lil Jon is not accquainted with the finer details of the drop saying, "I’m not like an expert, so don’t ask me no questions… I just like the taste."

The 36-year-old rapper, born Jonathan Smith, decided to use his birth name rather than his rap pseudonym explaining that, "The wine is more mature: I wanted to not just have a direct connection, but make it just a little bit more upscale than regular ‘Lil Jon’… This is not no ghetto Boone’s Farm [a brand of flavored malt beverage] ; this is some real wine."
