Oscar winning actress Renee Zellweger has said that she is a terrible movie star, admitting that she struggles to maintain her enthusiasm during grueling press junkets to promote her films.
The ‘Chicago’ actress, who is currently starring alongside George Clooney in ‘Leatherheads’, says she is simply “no good” at being a famous actress.
"I’m a terrible movie star. I’m not good at it. I can pretend to be, but it takes a lot out of me. It’s not my natural inclination to go, ‘Oh good! Another talk show!’ ",” she says.
Zellweger, 38, says she is a private person who prefers intimate gatherings to Hollywood parties, and admitted that she tries to choose characters that are dissimilar to her own personality, to avoid feeling vulnerable on the big screen.
"I don’t feel safe playing the girl who looks like me. There’s not enough to hide behind. The further removed the character is from my own, the more fun and easier it is," she says.
"Spoilt rotten to me is sleeping on my best friend’s couch because I love having private moments with people that are real – that’s just how I’m made!"
