Results of Heath Ledger’s Autopsy Expected This Week

February 4th, 2008

The cause of death of Australian actor Heath Ledger will be revealed in the next two days, according to the New York medical examiner, who will disclose the results of the autopsy, but "not the time of death".

The 28-year-old died on January 22 in his New York apartment of as-yet unknown causes.

Ellen Borakove, director of public affairs at the New York Chief Medical Examiner’s office, stated on Monday (February 4), "We’re expecting something in the next two days."

With the constant barrage of media reports and enquiries about Ledger’s death, Borakove specified that the time of death will not be made public.

"Not the time of death," Borakove said.

"We just give out the cause and manner of death. That’s all that is public information."

The body of the actor is reportedly on it’s way back to his home town of Perth for burial this week. Ledger’s family is currently in Los Angeles, but will be returning to Perth shortly.
