With gossip blogs and magazines willing them to get back together, Nick Lachey has ruled out reuniting with ex-wife Jessica Simpson following her reported break-up with Tony Romo.

Now that they’re both allegedly single, it seems natural that the blogoshpere would want them to pair up again, but Lachey told PEOPLE not to hold your breath waiting.

“I think it’s fun storytelling, but there’s very little truth to any of it,” he said. “I certainly have heard about her breakup and I wish her the best, as I’ve always done. Aside from that, there really is nothing to say.”

Lachey added, “I haven’t talked to her in probably two years.  I wish her happiness. That’s where it pretty much ends.”
