Rick Astley Death Rumors False, Says Rep
June 30th, 2009Here’s another celebrity to add to the false rumors list after reports of Rick Astley’s death flooded the internet and made him one of Twitter’s top Trending Topics on Tuesday (June 30).
According to the false stories, the eighties popstar was reportedly found unconscious in his Berlin hotel room and was unable to be resuscitated, with paramedics pronouncing him dead on the scene.
However, Astley’s spokesperson posted the following message on his official website to debunk the rumor:
“I have just spoken with Rick, who is in Copenhagen preparing for his show on Friday evening at the Tivoli Gardens. I think this is somebody’s idea of a joke or retribution for the Rick Rolling internet prank.
Tops Henderson, Rick’s Manager
This statement follows a rumour that hit the press earlier this morning, with Rick reported to have been found in hotel room in Berlin.”
