Rihanna: Life Is More Intense Since February

December 2nd, 2009

rihanna-universalRihanna gave a candid interview with Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday morning (December 1), talking about her attempts to reconcile with her dad and how life has changed since February’s assault at the hands of her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

rihanna-universalSeacrest asked the popstar about reports her father has attempted to patch things up.

“Really?” She replied.  “That’s sounds very strange to me since I’ve been the one that’s been trying to reconcile with him forever.  I have not heard from my father in over a year, and I tried though, I reached out to him I did my part and now its on him.”

She adds, “He did something that was really upsetting, he went to the media and got paid to talk about stuff.  Like all these little interviews he was doing after the situation in February.  I hadn’t spoken to him and he was speaking as if we did and it was so disappointing to me.”

The radio host then asked what caused the initial rift between them.

“He did something, again, that was a little embarrasing on tour,” Rihanna explained.  “He disrespected some people on the bus and I didn’t like that so I kind of just let him go back home.  I didn’t think it was going to be a thing where we weren’t talking to each other, I just thought ‘OK, you just need some time away right now.’  Everytime I tried to call after that, that was it.”

Seacrest then turned to her life after the February 8 attack, asking if it had returned to “normal”?

“No. It’s a different life. Normal? I wouldn’t say normal, it’s definitely more intense,” Rihanna replied.  “Like everyday there’s another curveball but now I just know how to handle it. Every time you get put under a situation it somehow seems to make you stronger in the end. Even though you don’t feel like it, you feel like this is the end of the world it somehow works out.”
