Robert Pattinson Ordered To Gain Weight For Twilight

February 19th, 2009

Robert Pattinson has revealed that he trained up to five hours a day for his breakthrough role in Twilight – and lost so much weight that the film’s director, Catherine Hardwicke, ordered him to pack on some pounds.

“I used to go to the gym for about five hours a day, but then I started losing so such weight. My head started to look really huge in comparison to the rest of my body,” Pattinson tells Entertainment Weekly.

“(Catherine Hardwicke) came up to me and said, ‘What are you doing to yourself?’”

Pattinson abruptly put an end to his grueling gym workouts, and began putting the weight back on.

“(To gain weight) I literally stopped exercising,” he says.

“Eating a cheeseburger after two-and-a-half months of doing that – it tasted like ambrosia.”
