Seth Rogen has blasted former co-star Katherine Heigl’s latest film, in response to her claims that the movie they appeared in together, Knocked Up, “painted women as shrews” while making the men look “loveable”.
Rogen has questioned the portrayal of the sexes in Heigl’s new movie The Ugly Truth during an interview on a US radio station, saying, “That film looks like it really puts women on a pedestal in a beautiful way!”
Judd Apatow, who directed Knocked Up, chips in, “I hear there’s a scene where she’s wearing underwear with a vibrator in it, so I’d have to see if that was uplifting for women.”
The director admitted that he’s still hurt by Heigl’s comments, which came out after the film was released.
“You think at some point I’ll get a call saying, ‘Sorry, I was tired,’ and then the call never comes,” he says.
“Seth always says, it doesn’t make any sense because she improvised half her shit. At the time, on set, she could not have been cooler.”
Rogen adds, “I’ve got to say, it’s not like we’re the only people she said some bad sh*t crazy things about. That’s kind of her bag now.”
