Sarah Jessica Parker Talks Sex Movie

March 16th, 2008

As the release date inches closer, the rumor mill is firing up about potential plotlines for the upcoming ‘Sex and the City’ movie specifically, what is happening between Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big.

Sarah Jessica Parker did the media rounds at the Showest awards show in Las Vegas last Thursday night (March 15), where she talked up the new movie while attempting to remain tight-lipped.

"I’m trying to be stealth because I really don’t want to give the story away," Parker told US tv show ‘Extra’.

The 42-year-old actress received the Vanguard Award at the ceremony, where she told the crowd she wasn’t sure that the show still had a following.

"Then on the first day of shooting, all of these people are lined up to see us. It gave me chills. I’ve never tried to figure out why the show struck the chord that it did. But it was just so hard to believe that they cared for it four years after we went off the air," she said.

Parker revealed little about the highly anticipated movie, telling MTV news that writer and director Michael Patrick King has "very cleverly written a screenplay that is hopefully very funny, and creates an environment that the audience is used to seeing on our show.  But he’s also written a movie that is grown up, and there’s incredible disappointment and sadness in this movie — even despair. There’s a loss that happens that’s pretty tough, and I think that’s very nice to see as an audience, because it’s great storytelling."

When it comes to the one question that fans want answered, Parker remains tight-lipped saying, "Well, I think that people are very curious about the progression of the relationship between Carrie and Mr. Big. And, obviously, people are expecting in a conventional way that the next step might be marriage. And, really, my lawyer has advised me not to answer this question."

Parker also reveals that Carrie’s favorite footwear – Manolo Blahnik – hasn’t changed since fans last saw her walking down the streets of New York"There were some Manolo’s that were made for the movie that are quite extrodinary, and then there’s the shoe called the Dior Extreme that is kind of not to be believed," she said.

As for talks of a sequel, nothing has been confirmed to date with Parker simply saying, "People talk to me about it in very loose ways."
