Reports of Scarlett Johansson shopping for a wedding dress spiralled out of control on the web on Monday (February 11) when the actress was seen looking at dresses at a Los Angeles boutique store, prompting her representative - once again – to deny rumors of an engagement between Johansson and her boyfriend, Ryan Reynolds.

The story appeared all over gossip websites and in entertainment reports, claiming that the 23-year-old was shopping at the Monique Lhullier boutique with her mother and sister.

However, the stories failed to mention that the store, located on LA’s famous Melrose Place, sells clothing other than wedding dresses.

Johansson’s representative has denied that ongoing wedding speculation, telling Usmagazine.com, "A family member is getting married, not her. She is not engaged."
