Actor Shia LaBeouf won’t face DUI charges following his car accident in Los Angeles earlier this year, where he flipped his vehicle resulting in a crushed hand.
LaBeouf was initially blamed for the accident on July 27, until authorities determined the other driver ran a red light, just as the 22-year-old actor attempted to make a left-hand turn.
Jane Robinson, a spokeswoman for the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office said Thursday (September 25), “After reviewing the case, we’ve declined to file any charges due to insufficient evidence.”
Michael Norris, LaBeouf’s attorney, told People, “We’re very happy with the prosecutor’s decision, and we’re glad this whole thing is resolved without Shia having to go to court.”
The ‘Transformers’ star will still face a DMV hearing Friday and could possibly have his license suspended.
