Simon Cowell Hints At Leaving American Idol

January 11th, 2008

American Idol judge Simon Cowell has hinted that he might resign his post on the judging panel for the hit television show, one his current contract ends in two years time.

Speaking on a conference call to a group of reporters, Cowell revealed that he finds the audition process for the budding singing stars to be "absolute torture".

He also states that he feels the show would probably be better off without him, saying, "The public eventually are gonna get sick to death of me. Nine years is probably enough to inflict on anyone. Can the show exist without me? Absolutely. It would probably get better."

I think Simon is wrong this time. He figures people will get sick of him so therefore the show will get better if he quits. But if that happens and there is a new person, he’ll probably never be as fun or spontaneous or honest etc. The guy will probably just be simply mean or stupid and a copycat/clone wannabe of Simon. So the show will just crumble quickly at that point.
