‘American Idol’ and ‘X Factor’ judge Simon Cowell has laid to rest a number of rumors in an interview with the UK’s Daily Mail, confirming that he has had botox but has "not had cosmetic surgery".

It’s reported that Cowell, 48, has a fortune of around £100 million and five palatial homes, and tabloids have routinely speculated that his youthful appearance is due largely to plastic surgery.

"No, absolutely not. I have not had cosmetic surgery," he tells the Daily Mail.

"Yes, I’ve had Botox, but not in an obsessive way. Then again, every guy I know who works in the City has had it now… I like to take care of myself. I work out, I take lots of vitamins. What can I say? I think I look good for my age."

During the interview, Cowell also squashed the gay rumors that follow him, despite the fact that he has been in a relationship with the same woman, model and TV presenter Terri Seymour, for the past five years.

"If I was (gay), why hide it?" he explains.

"It’s not as if the music business would be an odd place for a gay man to work. And anyway, if I was trying to hide the fact that I was gay, I would be off playing rugby every Saturday, wouldn’t I?"
