Sarah Jessica Parker revealed Tuesday (Feb 17) that her ‘Sex and the City’ character Carrie Bradshaw will need to be made recession-friendly in the movie’s sequel, to match the current times.
“How do we do that well?” Parker told The Billy Bush Show. ”And how do we do that in a not lazy way? How do we address these economic times in a franchise that has a lot to do with luxury and labels?”
One thing’s for sure, the actress and executive producer Michael Patrick King want the second film to be lighter than the first.
“I think we want this one to be a romp,” she explains. “The last one, we got to tell a really mature sophisticated story that had real heartbreak in it and this time, I think we want a romp. We want our audience to have a massive romp.”
As for what will happen in the sequel between Carrie and her new husband Mr. Big?
“In a million years I’m not going to give you an indication,” Parker joked. “I want someone to show up that first weekend.”
