Snoop Dogg Stands Trial Over Concert Fracas

April 28th, 2009

Snoop Dogg took the stand this afternoon in a civil trial, to say that he did not hit a man with his microphone during a 2005 concert.

The rapper is being sued by Richard Monroe Jr., who claims that he was injured by Snoop Dogg and his security guards after he came on-stage during a show near Seattle. Monroe Jr. sued the rapper in 2006, seeking millions of dollars.

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, told jurors that he did not hit Monroe with a brass knuckle microphone, and that he did not invite the fan to come up on stage.

Monroe testified on Friday (April 24) that he thought he had been invited on stage.
