Spinoff For Gossip Girl In The Works

A spinoff based on the television show ‘Gossip Girl’ is said to be in the works, with reports that producers are looking to create a new series based on one of the existing characters – or potentially, based on a new character to be introduced this season.
The Hollywood Reporter writes that the new show may follow Taylor Momsen’s character Jenny Humphrey to a new school, to follow the storyline in the original book series, which has the younger Humphrey sibling going off to boarding school and reinventing her image.
When contacted about the reports, ‘Gossip Girl’ executive producer Josh Schwartz told E! Online, “Not sure how this got out there — but no plans for spin off at this moment. The books do have a spin off, but we have nothing in the works right now other than making sure Season 2 gets off to a great start.””
