It’s awards season again in Hollywood and today it’s the Golden Globe’s turn to take centre stage with their nominations.

Speaking of which, Golden Globes MC Ricky Gervais wants to rename them.

Barbara Walters announced her 10 Most Fascinating People for 2011 (Hey Babs, if The Kardashians were included in the list, doesn’t that make it way more than 10?).

The reviews are in for Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows, starring Robert Downey Jr, Jude Law and co., with the buzz being it’s better than the original!

Same goes with Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, it’s blisteringly good!!

Ricky Gervais has responded to the uproar regarding his Golden Globe hosting duties, denying reports he was fired midway through the awards telecast, that numerous celebrities were highly offended at some of the jokes and that overall he felt the night went well. (more…)

The Hollywood Foreign Press says that they’re happy with the controversial hosting duties of Ricky Gervais during Sunday night’s Golden Globes, but did acknowledge that at times he went a little too far. Read their official statement after the jump…

“We loved the show. It was a lot of fun and obviously has a lot of people talking,” a statement from the HFPA reads.  “When you hire a comedian like Ricky Gervais, one expects in your face, sometimes outrageous material.”

It added, “Certainly, in this case, he pushed the envelope and occasionally went too far. The HFPA would never condone some of his personal remarks. Overall, however, the show was among the best we’ve ever had and we were pleased.”
