Music producer and hit maker Timbaland has announced plans to release a ‘Mobile Album’ – that is, an album made entirely on the road in a specially-designed mobile recording studio – and will release one song per month during 2008.
Timbaland’s exclusive deal with telecommincations company Verizon Wireless in the US will mean he’ll work with different singers of his choosing for each track.
"I’m just going to have fun with it," he told Billboard. "I’ll just do what comes in mind."
Explaining why he chose to take on the unique idea, Timbaland explains that "every place don’t get a CD [but] everbody has a mobile phone.
"Just producing a mobile album has never been done. I’m the first to ever do it."
At this stage no information about a widespread released has been provided.
