Tony Parker Suing Over Cheating Allegations

December 20th, 2007

Tony Parker has launched a lawsuit against a gossip website who claimed he had had an affair with a French model, and is seeking at least US$40 million in damages for defamation and invasion of privacy.

Gossip website X17online.com published a series of stories claiming that Parker had cheated on his wife, ‘Desperate Houswives’ star Eva Longoria, with the alleged ‘other woman’, Alexandra Paressant, saying that they had a two month affair after she attended the couple’s wedding.

The lawsuit lodged on Wednesday (December 19) in the Superior Court states that, "This is false. It never happened. And X17 had to know that the story was false, or, at the very least, it had to have entertained serious doubts about the credibility of its suposed source."

It also states that the gossip and paparazzi site never contacted the San Antonia Spurs star, Longoria or any of their respective representatives and then failed to retract the stories after they had been informed they were incorrect.

Paressant claims she was introduced to Parker via French soccer star Thierry Henry, which Parker, in the lawsuit, claims is incorrect, as Henry didn’t attend the wedding.

"No one from X17 attempted to contact Mr. Henry, who… would have told them in no uncertain terms that this woman was not at the wedding."

It also states that, "If this woman exists, he has no way of knowing whether she is one of the many fans who have, from time to time, managed to obtain his cell phone number and called or left messages or who may have engaged him in conversation."

Parker has ordered the website to stop publishing the stories, with X17 yet to make a public statement about the US$40 million lawsuit.
