It has been confirmed by New York police that celebrity DJ Adam Goldstein, known as DJ AM, was found dead Friday morning in his New York apartment. He was only 36.

Less than a year ago both he and Travis Barker survived a plane crash in South Carolina that claimed the lives of 4 people. He suffered severe burns in the crash.

In what sure to set rumours flying, his last post on Twitter was a line from a Grandmaster Flash song: New york, New York. Big city of dreams, but everything in New York ain’t always what it seems.” Police are looking into cause of death.

Goldstein was slated to star in a intervention-style MTV reality show, helping teens break their drug addictions.
