Warner Bros. has fired back at claims the company was responsible for the death of Brittany Murphy, after they reportedly “dropped” her from the upcoming Happy Feat 2.
Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack, puts the blame on Warner Bros. for his wife’s death in late December, telling The Daily Beast, “They killed her,” due to stress and has revealed plans to take them to court over it.
“She was devastated,” he says of the movie house canceling her contract for the animated flick.
However, Warner Bros. has refuted the claims, releasing the following statement:
“Any claim that Warner Bros. Pictures was somehow responsible for Brittany Murphy’s tragic death is demonstrably false, reprehensible, and defamatory. Despite press reports to the contrary, Warner Bros. Pictures and Ms. Murphy never entered into any deal for “Happy Feet 2,” and thus, there was not a contract to cancel.”
