X-Men World Expands Following Success Of Wolverine

The X-Men franchise is about to get a lot bigger, with Variety reporting another four movies in development, after X-Men Origins: Wolverine smashed the world box office over the weekend.

Ryan Reynolds is set to star in Deadpool, based on his character from the Wolverine flick, who rises from the debris at the very end of the movie in one of the highly publicized ‘Easter Egg’ endings.

Gossip Girl executive producer Josh Schwartz is writing X-Men: First Class and a film based around the character Magneto is also in development.

Additionally, after taking over $165 million at worldwide box offices in it’s first weekend, Fox is in the early planning stages of a sequel to Wolverine.
